Lost Art

I've got Lost on the brain, having stayed up late the last 3 nights to watch season 5, studying up for the premier next Tuesday. Here's some Lost-related art:

1. Chuck Close's Big Self Portrait was perhaps the inspiration for styling Radzinsky.

2. DaVinci-inspired promo picture. In the words of Eddie Izzard, "We can't all do big arms!"

3. Professionally fan-made Lost posters, found on Flavorwire. Click the link to see more - this one's my favorite.

I couldn't have named that Close painting, but I've seen it dozens of times in person at the Walker in Minneapolis! Am I an art idiot for finding it captivating?

Chuck Close rocks. He said something like, "Inspiration is for amateurs, the rest of us show up for work." He has found a particular style of working that is recognizable, but each individual painting is still engaging on its own.

Radzinsky, on the other hand, is a douche.
