All 'Memphis Beat' Needs to Become a Good Show

  1. new writers who are also good writers
  2. for the actors to spend time in Memphis to hear what we really sound like (hint: not like people in Savannah and not like people in New Orleans)
  3. to film here
Easy peasy.

Yeah, I've kinda felt put off and put down by this show. The worst is the radio commercials. The actors sound so damn generic, and you can't even see the fake Memphis backdrops.

This is why I haven't watched it at all.

I gave it 3 tries this season, but I just don't think I can do any more. In the 3rd episode there was a scene in front of a building that was just so obviously in New Orleans, it sort of hurt my feelings. Also, if the story lines were better I could probably get over the scenery.

I wanted to like the show because I like Memphis and I like Jason Lee. I find his nose fascinating. I watched maybe half an episode and it hurt my feelings so much I had to turn it off. I don't think I would like it even if I wasn't from Memphis.
